The International Code of Cyanide Management for the Production, Transportation and Use of Cyanide in Gold Mining (Code) is a voluntary industrial programme for gold mining companies developed by a multi-stakeholder steering committee under the aegis of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the body known as the International Council of Metals and the Environment (ICME). The Code is managed by the International Cyanide Management Institute (IIGC), a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C.
