As reactions continued to search for cyanide gold in Ordu’s Fatsa district, a gold search warrant was also found in Tokat’s Erbaa, Niksar and Reshadian districts. The research proposal submitted by CHP Tokat DEPUTY Kadim Durmaz and his friends to the Presidency of the Parliament included determining the damage to be done. However, the motion was rejected by akp votes.

Kadim Durmaz stated that the region where gold will be sought will affect the habitat of 40 villages in Erbaa district center, Kozlu, Çerkezfındıcak, Keçeci, Aziz Baba, Ezebağı, Tanoba Town, Tashova, Turhal, Amasya. Verusa Holdinge said that the license was issued to san Eczacıbaşı in the villages of Budaklı, Bayraktepe, Eryaba and Teknealan in Niksar.

THEY DIDN’T DO A REVIEW

Noting that the research motion was immediately rejected before the state of the region was seen, Durmaz told the SPEAKER:

– We wish that the proposal we made on this issue, which we see and approach above politics, would be accepted with a common mind and stance, and the commission to be established would come and examine it and investigate it. We wanted to see the report from the commission together, but that intention was not accepted. We witnessed the mine search and damages in the case of Fatsa very recently.

WE’LL HAVE IT OUT

– We will not allow and face any project that will negatively affect irreparable, human and all kinds of living lives, make our water undedible, our land uninsiacable, make our region uninsable, slaughter our forests, leave a toxic soil where no new one grows in place of the felled tree.

SIX MILLION TREES

Noting that there was no good news from the Selemen plateau Kuyucak-Demircili region of Reşadiye, Durmaz said, “While 4,000 liters of water are needed for one gram of gold, 6 million trees will be cut down if a search permit is granted in the region. The search for cyanide gold will negatively affect not only Erbaa, Niksar, Tashova, but also the Wednesday and Terme plains in the Yeşilırmak basin. 180,000 small heads, 80,000 cattle, 14,000 hive bees will come to an end. The famous Niksar walnuts will also disappear.”

WHAT WILL CHANGE IF THE PROJECT DOES NOT STOP?

– The regional water cycle will change, underground and overground water resources may be contaminated.

-Yeşilırmak River may lose its capacity to digest pollutants and its living life may end.

-Regional (especially Mount Sakarat) forests will suffer serious damage and biodiversity will be negatively affected.

-Air quality will decrease, environmental and public health problems may occur, production of plains will decrease, pastures will end, livestock will be negatively affected.

– Serious and collective public health problems may begin.

– The power of the region to resist global climate change, the brand value of the products will decrease.

ABOVE THE POLITICAL

Noting that the issue should be approached “above politics”, Kadim Durmaz said, “Erbaalı, Niksarlı and Reşadiyeli, all Tokatians are valuable from the top of our land when it comes to mining, do not touch our habitats, nature, water, highlands. Hear the voice of the slapper and revoke these search licenses.”
