Forest fire in Bilecik: 1 suspect in custody

The fire, which broke out in the forest area near the Gülümbe village of Bilecik, was put under control before it grew as a result of the early intervention of the teams. One person was detained by the gendarmerie on suspicion of sabotage related to the forest fire.

For an unknown reason, a fire broke out in the forest area near the Gülümbe village of Bilecik. Upon the notification of those who saw the dense smoke, the Fire Brigade of Bilecik Forestry Directorate and Bayırköy Municipality intervened in the flames.

The fire, which was brought under control in a short time, was extinguished before it grew. Citizens in the vicinity also supported the teams during the fire extinguishing efforts. While cooling works continue in the forest area, an investigation was started by the Gendarmerie Command teams regarding the cause of the fire.
