Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB-IMM) Spokesperson Murat Ongun announced that Berat Albayrak’s brother, Serhat Albayrak, is behind the media operation organized against IMM.
Speaking to İBB Haber, Murat Ongun said, “A dirty operation is being attempted against İBB under the leadership of Sabah Newspaper. The architect of this operation is Serhat Albayrak, who manages both Turkuvaz Media and Demirören Media.”
After the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu claimed that “people connected with terrorist organizations” were working in the IMM, the media organs under the control of the government started to report in this direction.
Murat Ongun used the following statements in a statement he made on his social media account before:
It was said, “There are 557 employees associated with terrorist organizations in IMM.” Pool media reduced the number to 7 today. In the examination, none of the employees, 3 of whom were seasonal, had a criminal record at employment. No information was shared by the Police Department on this matter.
On December 8, the Minister of the Interior claimed that there were 557 employees associated with terrorist organizations in IMM. 4 days passed, no operation or investigation was carried out on 557 people. The judicial records of 6 people who were reflected in the media were clean. We ask for national security; who are these 557 people?
