Reactions that started after the forest massacre in Kirazl\u0131 Village Balaban Tepe, near Atikhisar Dam, which supplies the drinking water of \u00c7anakkale, by the Canadian-owned gold mining company Alamos Gold, initiated the \u00ab\u00a0Water and Conscience Watch\u00a0\u00bb in the region a year ago. According to the figures of the forest engineers’ chamber, approximately 350 thousand trees were killed and an ecosystem inhabited by hundreds of thousands of creatures was destroyed. The images of the massacre revealed by the drone shots were met with reactions all over the country, especially in \u00c7anakkale. Following the press statement made by \u00c7anakkale Municipality, city council and life advocates at the site of the massacre, \u00ab\u00a0Water and Conscience Watch\u00a0\u00bb was launched on 26 July 2019 to stop the nature slaughter of gold miners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
