Doctors who have been subjected to violence, who cannot stand the harsh working conditions and do not see the value they deserve, either resign and move to private hospitals or leave Turkey and settle abroad. As such, there is a shortage of doctors in hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the last examples of this was the Zonguldak B\u00fclent Ecevit University Hospital. The last person to work as a medical oncology specialist in the city for many years, Prof. Dr. H\u00fcseyin Engin resigned in April 2021. No other doctor was appointed after that day. Thus, there are no permanent medical oncology specialists left throughout the province. Treatment of cancer patients was interrupted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
THEY ARE GOING OUT OF THE PROVINCE
In the absence of a doctor, cancer patients go to hospitals in the surrounding provinces. When we want to make an appointment from the hospital’s internet system, the oncology department still seems active, but we cannot make an appointment for this year or for the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we tried to make an appointment by phone, the authorities stated that the department was closed because there was no oncology doctor in the hospital and that no appointment would be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
