Tender process begins for 766 new mine sites in 68 provinces

The General Directorate of Mines and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources launched a tender process on Monday (August 24th) to issue search and operation licenses on a total of 892,814 hectares of land in 766 mines in 68 provinces of Turkey. Within the scope of the tenders, search and operation licenses will be issued for mining works in 73 regions in Sivas, 56 in Kahramanmaraş, 39 in Eskisehir and 30 in Erzincan. MAPEG previously tendered 616 fields in June 2018 and 417 in April 2019.

A license will be issued for the search and operation of the fourth group of mines during the tender process, which runs until September 8th. The fourth group of mines include industrial raw materials such as sodium, potassium, lithium, iodine; there are energy raw materials such as lignite, quarry, uranium and metallic mines such as gold, silver, platinum, copper, iron, chromium, titan and aluminum.
