APPROVAL TO THOUSANDS OF TONS OF Cyanide
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, which should be one of the strictest followers of the Paris Climate Agreement, approved the EIA on October 7, 2021, which approved the use of 122 thousand tons of sulfuric acid and 11 thousand tons of cyanide per year on the banks of the Euphrates River.
With the approval of the new EIA report of the Kapakler Gold Mine, which is operated by the ruling Çalık Holding together with the Canadian SSR Mining Company, the annual use of sulfuric acid used in the mine is increased from 9 thousand tons to 122 thousand tons. Yes, you read it right, 122 thousand tons.
The amount of cyanide used in Kapakler is increased from 6,900 tons to 11 thousand tons annually. In Erzincan-İliç, 11 thousand tons of cyanide will be spilled on millions of tons of stone-soil in the open air in one year.

This means that at least 11 tons of gold gold will be produced annually in Kapakler. As the poison dams, where the toxic wastes of the gold, silver and nickel mines are stored, fill up after a while no matter what is done, the mining company found to build an EVAPORATOR as a solution. In other words, the toxic wastewater in the poison dam will be evaporated by 10 huge evaporators and released into the atmosphere. Right after the signing of the Paris Climate Agreement!
