In 2020, when rent and plunder increased over nature, the resistance grew as much. Trying to protect the land, water and air, life advocates continued their struggle across the country.

In 2020, the government paved the way for pillaging nature with the incentives it gave to energy and mining companies and with environmental impact assessment (EIA) decisions. Thermal, nuclear, geothermal, hydroelectric, biogas power plants and mining projects did not fall from the agenda of the country. Struggling against increasing plunder and rent, life advocates raised the voice of resistance all over the country.

One of the most interesting events of the year was the decision that the cause of death of 9-year-old Ella Kissi Debrah in England was “air pollution”. With the decision, air pollution was accepted as the cause of death by the court for the first time in the world.
