The local people did not allow the EIA meeting to be held for the chrome mine planned to be built in Höyük district of Arsuz district of Hatay.

Stating that the chrome quarry area, which will cover an area of 1,820 hectares, will affect the forest and agricultural area in the region negatively, the residents of the region expressed their opposition to the mining enterprise and they did not want the information meeting, and it was recorded that the EIA meeting could not be held, and it was recorded in the minutes.
It was noteworthy that the EIA meeting was exempted from this ban during the period when the Arsuz District Governorship prohibited all kinds of meetings and announcements in the city for 15 days.
For the EIA meeting, which will take place at 11:00 the previous day, the officials of the Hatay Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization declared that they did not open the meeting because the people gathered in Höyük neighborhood did not agree to inform.
